    Talking Heads - This Must Be the Place

    I’ve heard covers of this song by MGMT and Arcade Fire, but nothing beats the original. Ever. If you disagree you’re wrong. I’m sorry.

    What can I say about the Talking Heads that hasn’t been said before? Essentially they were the beginning of alternative, part of a genre called new wave in the 80s. They were criticized just as much as they were acclaimed have influenced numerous bands, including MGMT and Radiohead. To me their sound still remains relevant, especially when there is such a big movement towards a more “electronic” sound.

    If you have the time, I really suggest you watch this video here. It’s from the 1984  concert film Stop Making Sense, and it is absolutely fantastic. Watching them live makes me wish I was born twenty years earlier.

I hate to tell you that this is a Michael Kors design (note that I didn’t say Michael Kors bag) that many people think resembles a Birkin but which I just think is one more MK design hell bent on ripping off other designers. (We have the obvious LV speedy rip off, this and various other Louis Vuitton ripoffs this season and the MK Hamilton bag is just another one.) HOWEVER, not only is the bag pictured here not a Birkin, it’s also not an authentic Michael Kors and I’m going to guess it’s also not real ostrich (authentic ostrich MK Hamilton here for comparison). Ladies and gents, here we have a knock off of a knock off parading as authentic. Amazing. Plus side: this girl is absolutely gorgeous. Props and jealousy headed your way, beautiful. Cute shoes, too.
